Win8 deliver a new series of windows software branded Windows Store apps. As the name implies, these applications are delivered by Microsoft windows store. Microsoft states that all apps have been developed for touchscreen devices mainly but they can still run on desktop PCs too.


Applications can launch either in a full screen mode or in the docked mode. There are many win apps which are specially targeted to social platforms and many others support interaction with social platforms and other sharing platforms.


MS has marketed a set of win 8 tablets, branded as MS Surface or Windows Surface. There are many positive reviews on these tablets although its pricing is a little hard on the pocket. Win 8 tablet PCs are meant to be in direct competition with other tablets like apple ipads and Android powered tablets.

If application application programmers support Windows 8 by launching good application, win 8 RT will be a really challenging competition to the other system OS
Windows series of system software boast a general wide acceptance and great ease of use. This should be a big challenge for the other OS vendors.


More tab PCs by different major vendors like samsung are putting more weapon to the microsoft arsenal. This should be a big plus compared to apple software application which are soley for its own hardware devices. Although this is not the case with androis OS which is prefering a more liberal approach and this has been its primary reason for its success up to now.
